About

I’m a married, middle-aged mom of two teenaged daughters, living in Seattle. In this blog, I write about the universal experience of shenpa, focusing on how to live more skillfully in the wake of “getting hooked” by thoughts and emotions with the hope of improving the quality of daily life and relationships. I am neither a Buddhist teacher nor a formal student of Buddhism, so please forgive the inevitable mistakes I will make in this blog about some of these concepts. I’m just looking for a little freedom, and I invite you along for the ride.

  1. Thank you for your posts! I wish you will keep on writing, it’s so interesting and beautiful. I feel I don’t have time to read all the wonderful things that one can find in the Internet, but will try to read what you write.

    • Cecilia, thank you so much for your comment. You made my day. I haven’t posted here in a long time because of family illnesses and deaths, but I may take it up again. I can also be found at http://beguineagain.com/ . This is a friend’s blog, and I post on Mondays (“Mindful Mondays”). Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’ll get to it tomorrow (Apr. 14), but you can see previous Mindful Monday posts. Thanks again.
